How the Applyable ATS score actually works

Most resume scores are a black box: paste the same resume twice and get two different numbers. Ours is deterministic maths. Weighted keyword coverage, similarity and format checks, so the score is something you can reason about, not a mood.

What gets weighted

The ad is parsed into requirements and nice-to-haves. Terms that appear in the requirements weigh more than ones in the fluff, and coverage in your experience bullets counts for more than a bare mention in a skills list.

Format checks catch the things parsers actually choke on: tables, multi-column layouts, images where text should be. Applyable's own output passes them by construction; the checks exist for resumes you bring from elsewhere.

What deliberately isn't in the score

No invented experience can raise it: tailoring only reorders and rewords what's in your profile, so the score can't be gamed by fiction. And no AI judgement calls: an LLM never decides your number.

That's also why re-running is free and unlimited on every job. A score you can interrogate is only useful if you can re-run it after every edit, which is exactly what Power Edit does, live.

Same input, same number, every time. That's the whole point.
